Adorable fuzzy-faced dog compared to a Picasso masterpiece

Meet the adorable side-faced dog who has been compared to a Picasso masterpiece and has celebrity fans including Amanda Seyfried.

Amanda Richter, 34, fell in love with stray Brodie, 5, when she saw him on a rescue site.

The German Shepard, Mastiff, Pitbull Terrier and Rottweiler mix was bitten by his mother as a puppy – leaving him with a disfigured face and partially blind in one eye.

But the British Columbia photographer thought Brodie was “perfect” and liked that he looked a bit like “a Picasso masterpiece”.

“He is a brave little boy. He makes me laugh,” Richter said. “He is a bundle of energy and carefree. I get the comment a lot that he looks a lot like a cartoon dog we used to draw as kids. He’s not perfect, but he’s still lovable. It’s not about what’s out there. That dog has the biggest heart. He’s perfect for me.”

Amanda knew she had to get Brodie as soon as she saw a post about him from Old MacDonald Kennels in Alberta, Canada.

Brodie’s jaw was partially fused, but it didn’t affect him.

“He has no idea he’s different,” Richter said. “He is full of life. He wants to play all the time. He’s also very smart,” Amanda said.

Amanda shared Brodie online with the account @bestboybrodie and one of her followers sent her a rescue dog with an uncanny resemblance to him.

“They are soul mates,” Richter said.

Three-year-old Raven, a Husky and German Shepard mix, came to join the family in February 2022 after being rescued from Fuzzy Texan Animal Rescue.

“Brodie was terrified of Raven at first,” Richter said. “Raven was from an abusive home. She stiffened when I picked her up. Eventually they warmed to each other. Now they are inseparable. They play together. It’s such a brother-sister relationship.”

Brodie’s celebrity followers include Leona Lewis and Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump.

“I think it’s funny,” Richter said.

She hopes Brodie’s sharing sends a message and encourages others to rescue dogs who aren’t “perfect”.

“Not being perfect is okay. “I hope people will go and rescue dogs that are not perfect,” Richter said.
